The monuments of men are still out there. They watch me,
as I gather myself from the pavement – covered in snow,
stepped on, but not broken.
Not burdened or burnt, my soul is stronger than ever.
Bright light shines on me as I hold my breath
and hold your hand, the very same that picked me up
from all my lives’ bottomless depth.
And I’ve never been buried deeper and never been buried since.
The winter may last, but so do our hands. Our bonds convince
– they grow stronger, hour by day by month by season.
We radiate the sun’s warmth while the snow melts.
This is the reason.
